Main news of the S78 release

Sofia S78 was released to all customers of SimCorp Italiana. It contains the following new functionalities.

ALM, FORECAST AND STRATEGIC PLANNING

Budget and Strategic Planning
The Strategic Planning module has been enriched with a new "Forward Prices" scenario, which can be used as an axis of analysis by selecting and configuring it in the launch screen of the multi-axis calculation.

ALM

A new log file is available for the sales archive, along with a new "Reconciliation Control" feature that highlights any discrepancies between accounting levels. These discrepancies may be caused, for example, by holdings present only at a statutory level or inconsistent nominal values.

FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS

Cross Currency Swap
The module for managing Cross Currency Swaps has been restructured, now allowing separate highlighting of the accounting values related to the two currencies considered.

Hedge Accounting
The Hedge Accounting module has been enriched with a new infrastructure that allows linking derivative positions to the financial instruments being hedged, as well as tools to represent the specific accounting effects of these relationships in each GAAP. The module upgrade requires a project phase in which the Client specifies the hedging accounting rules for each type of derivative and for each GAAP to which they intend to apply the hedges.

PROCESS AUTOMATION

Data Quality Real Time
The new “Data Quality Real Time” module is now available. This module enables continuous monitoring and resolution of anomalies, making Data Quality an even more effective and timely tool to support management and accounting processes. Real-time controls provide updated detections and results without the need for batch procedures.
For those who already have the “Data Quality” module active in their configuration, it is possible to transition from the current setup based on daily batches to the real-time solution through a specific configuration activity performed by SimCorp.

Accounting processes
Developments of the tools for governing the accounting closing process continue: “Real-Time G/L” “Fast Close” and “Multiclosing” make up the suite of modules supporting the orchestration and speeding up of period-end accounting processes.
